Background 

As part of the 4th African Business and Human Rights Forum taking place on 7-9 October 2025 in Lusaka, Zambia, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) are delighted to invite you to the dedicated Forum’s session for Business and Employer Organisations.


This safe space session for the private sector only aims to allow open discussion on key issues related to human rights and responsible business conduct.

This session is designed for all business practitioners seeking to stay ahead in the evolving landscape of BHR and RBC in Africa.

As a business representative, join this session for:

  • Share information and insights on latest Business and Human Rights (BHR) developments and how these are likely to affect companies operating in Africa as well as steps companies can take to prepare.

  • Share Business good practices on HRDD and discuss the link between effective grievance mechanisms, corporate accountability, and sustainable business.

  • Explore integration of grievance handling into HRDD processes to prevent escalation and build trust.

  • Highlight innovations that improve accessibility for women, migrant workers, and other marginalized groups.
